We are home with Havi

We made it home this afternoon with Havi.  Her T-tube came out and she is back to having a trach tube.  Her larynx (voice box) is so swollen that she cannot move air through to talk or to breathe.

Dr. Clark is concerned that this may be a long-term problem.  I think that he may be trying to prepare us for a long-term tracheostomy.  He does hope that in the next few days she will have some decrease in swelling.  If so we can think that the T-tube caused some irritation.

We do believe that the T-tube has helped remodel the trachea.  I believe she will be talking again in two days.  Havi is still strong and wants to get better.

Prayer has been so powerful in Havi’s recovery.  How can we ever thank you for the prayers?  Thank you for all the support, encouragement and affection.

“O, she doth teach the torches to burn bright!”  (Romeo and Juliet, Act 1, Sc. 5, 44)

Please pray.

    Deborah and Leland,
There are no words that I can say to ease the pain you must be feeling. I want you to know how sorry Brian and I are about Havi. She was such an inspiration to so many and she will be greatly missed. I am so sorry. You all are in our thoughts and prayers.

I am deeply saddened by your loss. I just talked to you, Leland. Mom & Dad came over and they are deeply distraught. Dad was telling me a fond memory of him and Havi going to Bass Pro Shop and having a blast. Dad gets choked up talking about blessed Havi. I am praying for both you and Deborah for strength in your hearts. God Bless.

Dr. Dennis Iam so sorry to hear about your daughter. As I was told when my daughter passed away, ” she is gone but she is not forgotten”… I will pray for you and your family and you remember all the many happy times with her. She is no longer in pain and suffering and she looks upon you all with the greatest love.
I dont know you well, as you were leaving here as I came to work…at The Holloway Group…..
May God Bless you and your family, as my family will pray for you.
